World Breastfeeding Week
 

Now taking orders for the 2008 World Breastfeeding Week Kit!   Place your orders now!  Please note that as of July 18th, the ILCA Office will be closed for our Annual Conference in Las Vegas.  Please be sure that your order is received in our office no later than July 17th to insure that your order arrives in time for World Breastfeeding Week. This year’s theme established by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy (WABA) is: “Mother Support: Going for the Gold.” ILCA has added the tag, “Every­one Wins When Babies Breastfeed” as a reminder that we ALL play a role in providing the support new mothers need to meet their breastfeeding goals.     ILCA congratulates WABA for this pertinent and timely topic. The theme provides a wonderful opportunity to highlight: The importance of support from employers, healthcare providers, families, and communities in helping a mother reach her breastfeeding goals; The impact of breastfeeding-friendly policies in hospitals and birthing facilities to help new mothers feel supported with breastfeed­ing; and The role of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) in educating the health community about ways to help women achieve their breastfeeding goals.

        About This Year’s Kit       

We are very excited that ILCA can provide this important resource kit, which is FULL of materials to help you plan an effective and memorable World Breastfeeding Week event. Included in the kit are: a button custom-made for ILCA to complement this year’s theme, “Going for the Gold” checklists to help employers, healthcare providers, families, emergency workers, and community organizations know how to support breastfeeding mothers, pamphlets for mothers, their family members, and healthcare providers, and lots of ideas and reproducible promotional materials.
