Letters to the Editor

Find a Lactation Consultant Feature on ILCA website

Karen Evon, Sacramento, California USA writes:
“I had occasion yesterday to refer a client to an IBCLC in another state, and since I couldn't find my old ILCA directory, I signed on to the website and hit the "Find a Lactation Consultant" tab. Well, much to my surprise, I could type in not only the state, but the city and even the name of an IBCLC I knew who lives/works there and ... ta dah! up came her name, phone number and email address for me to print out and give to the client. How cool is that! I had no idea this function was available from the website ... Thank you ILCA!”

Ed: Members who are IBCLC may be listed in the Find a Lactation Consultant Directory. If your listing is not there, and you would like to be included, contact info@ilca.org. When renewing your membership, be sure to indicate your preference for inclusion (or not) on the renewal form.

No Free Lunch

After reading about the No Free Lunch (Just Say No to Drug Reps) website in the last eGlobe, Barbara Boston RNC WHNP IBCLC at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Washington DC, USA emailed:
“I am sharing the www.nofreelunch.org website with our medical students”.

Ed.: What a great idea!

Correction

Please note that the item about Board of Directors changes in the August 2004 eGlobe incorrectly stated that Jacki Glover had been a Canadian Delegate to IBLCE. She was the Canadian delegate to ILCA.
