Planning
your five free hours on Friday afternoon
It's
almost conference time! As a balance to days of exciting sessions,
on Friday, July 16, participants will have five free hours
in the afternoon. Member Maryann Thurston, who lives near
Scottsdale and is president of the Central Arizona Lactation
Consultant Association, compiled the following list of things
to do at the Scottsdale Princess Resort, nearby sights to
visit, and a complete guide to local shopping. Be sure to
print it out and put it in your suitcase!
If you
simply can't get enough of ILCA activities, you are

Staying
Cool in Scottsdale's Desert Climate
The weather will be hot and dry – well over 100 degrees
during the day - at conference time. Local member Maryann
Thurston suggests that the best way to manage the desert climate
is to plan outdoor activities in the morning and evening,
and inside, air-conditioned, activities during the mid-day.

Don't

page. She's researched admission fees, hours of opening,
accommodation and dining. Activities run the gamut from bus
tours, baseball games, a Sarah McLachlan concert, museums
