ILCA Discussion Board

ILCA’s Discussion Board is the place to connect with your colleagues worldwide, to share an interesting case or get an answer to a clinical question. The following current threads invite your responses: log in to read, learn and share your experience.

In Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative
‘According to the BFHI, the healthy breastfeeding infant doesn't need any fluid supplement except for medical reasons. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding breastfeeding management of babies who do not demonstrate an interest in feeding, or who are feeding poorly or are just not able to latch?’

In Hospital-Based IBCLCs/Electronic Documentation
‘Our hospital is transitioning to computer documentation. Has anyone had experience creating an online lactation documentation form or worked in a hospital that uses a computerized lactation documentation form?’

Practice Notes

Marsha Walker reports that the best summary of how to bill for lactation services in a pediatric office can be found at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) website:
